Sacrament of Baptism

Holy Baptism is the basis of the whole Christian life, the gateway to life in the Spirit and the door which gives access to the other sacraments. Through Baptism we are freed from sin and reborn as children of God; we become members of Christ, are incorporated into the Church and made sharers in her mission: “Baptism is the sacrament of regeneration through water in the word.” (Catechism of the Catholic Church, n. 1213)


If it is your first child being baptized you will need to attend a preparation session before the Baptism. Please contact the parish to arrange a suitable date:

Baptisms are held on Saturdays from 10.30am.

Please use full legal names when completing forms.

All godparents must be over 16 and at least one must be Catholic.

Please ensure your child has a Baptism candle.

There is no charge for Baptisms. Donations to the Parish are welcomed.

If you are an adult desiring Baptism you will need to complete the Rite of Christian Initiation for Adults program (RCIA). Please contact the parish for information on when the course commences.
